As New York, London and Milan fashion weeks close, Paris collections
commence and Australian Transeasonal shows await, the fashion jet
set could invariably be known as the fashion jet lag. Focusing on
Australia, here are highlights of some new collections from Sydney,
Darwin, Melbourne and Byron Bay...
Bloodorange and Grapefruit Please!
This summer Parisian
Ballets by Serena Quinn have created a range of ballerina
pumps and flats in practically perfect patent leather - in very
NOW colours. The new range includes white patent with Nautical blue
and red trims, Whimsical White, Bloodorange and Grapefruit! For
all lovers of the original Parisian Ballets collection including
rich black velvets, the Classic City Pump now available in soft
sky silver, pretty Princess Polka Dots and Exotic Tahitian Palms,
they are ready for you to treat yourself to!
Charmaine
Baltis continues to expand on her signature style of
emulating the texture of crocodile skin in precious metals. ‘Saltwater’
is her latest collection which instinctively draws on forms and
textures of the ocean including ancient barnacles and the luxurious
saltwater crocodile. The unisex collection reveals an exotic Northern
Australian farmed saltwater crocodile leather set in precious metals,
crocodile link bracelets, South Sea Pearls buried in ancient ocean
barnacles and long sea serpent earrings hand carved from buffalo
horn.

Armour is back with Winter 08 to show you. With a neon tattoo theme
this men's street wear label is sure to grab some attention. Menswear
Retailers can contact Samara.
Proudly Australian made, Armour recently showed at the Passion For
Fashion fundraiser as part of the official Motorola Melbourne Spring
Fashion Festival. For their latest summer gear check out Urban
Identity in Hampton, Melbourne.
Perhaps a cheeky nod to the sometimes remote environs designer Gil
Cowen works from, the latest collection from the Mogil
stable is a culmination of ideas and shapes that don’t try
too hard to be anything other than what they are. What I am is What
I am is wearable, but not so classic as to be yawning. Sexy, but
not to the point of being trashy. On trend, but definitely not ‘trendy’.
What I am is What I am collection in stores from October 10 2007.
