This summer introduces women to Lonely Hearts Club, Hussy, Arabella Ramsey, Shona Joy, Hudson, 18th Amendment, White Suede, Valerie Tolosa, Lox, Something and Oscar & Elvis. Considered by many as lacklustre and disappointing, the RAFW Transeasonal shows last month did have a couple of highlights...

Daniel Avakian
Daniel Avakian's debut collection was inspired by the recently revamped Willy Wonka film and a fascination with lollypops and candy. By marrying crispy satins, stiff organzas and jacquards, with futuristic style lurex and super slinky jerseys, he has experimented with all fabrics that sound, act or look like lolly wrappers to evoke a sense of wit within classic styles. Collection in-store February 2008.

Illionaire
Definitely innovative and memorable was Illionaire. Guests at the offsite event were treated to a visual delight when they first entered the room, with an enormous 8ft neon cherry light centrepiece hung from the ceiling. On one side of the room were mannequins dressed in the latest print-inspired Illionaire collection and on the other side barely-there models dressed as mannequins. The social experiment was to see what guests were drawn to first, the models or the mannequins - as it turns out it was the models. Photographs below from Tito Media.
