Blending the magic of ancient Talismans with an eye for clean modern design, Charmaine Baltis is creating jewellery that is so much more than just adornment. Her latest collection “Spirit of Things” combines hand beaten chain, plump antique cut gemstones, pearls & sterling silver with a hint of vibrant crocodile leather into original and bold pieces for men and women. As always the designs are highly original and hand made to last a lifetime. Raw Fashion has just taken Charmaine’s label on board for PR so expect to see a lot more of her work in the media. Available to view and purchase online at Charmaine Baltis or from Vivienn where you will find treasures with subtle symbols of spirituality, engraved messages, natural textures and of course her original pieces of crocodile skin emulated into metal as seen in the latest Harrison Ford film "Crossing Over". Below: Cufflinks and ID bracelet, both in Crocodile leather.

Refashioning the Fashion is an exhibition featuring seven contemporary jewellers whose work is at times experimental, confrontational and non-functional. Alice Lang, Tiffany Parbs, Julia de Ville, Leah Heiss, Chelsea Gough, Gabby O’Conner and Melinda Young rebuild, recreate, restore, renovate, remake, reassemble, refashion and re-enact to create works that transcend convention and the body, and take the notion of jewellery to a new level of understanding.
