Known for her bold use of colour and whimsical prints, the muse for Ruby Smallbone’s Autumn Winter 2008 Collection matures, embracing a sultry seriousness. Moving away from floral prints and feminine accents, clean lines and a masculine-sharp edge dominate the winter collection. A luxury sports feel emanates from speed stripes and racer cuts and the inclusion of Ruby’s own ‘Ice-Skater’ print.

In Rebecca Thompson's Palm Springs Collection, pintucking meets basketweave and vintage floral meet circus stripes. Roman dresses are hemmed in garlands of tulle and shimmering beads and come in shades of cantaloupe, canary, adriatic blue and chalk. Take a gamble on texture with truly unique features worked into every piece of the collection.

Currently causing a stir on the fashion scene Javik (pronounced ‘yar-vik’) is an exciting label established in 2005 by Krystel Davis. This season Javik explores modern femininity with clean lines and girly details. Creating a sophisticated yet fresh Winter 2008 collection entitled “Without Beginning or End”, Javik features stylish moderns essentials perfect for any wardrobe.

An exhibition of work by artists who incorporate elements of stitching, sewing, weaving or embroidery. The slippery line between art and craft is one that has been questioned and attacked by artists for many years. The artists in this exhibition each take different elements from both traditions to create fascinating works, which are simultaneously beautiful, tactile, provocative and ultimately quite difficult to pin down.

Exploring artisanal fashion design practices that draw on traditional tailoring techniques to form contemporary collections. The designers in How You Make It create not only new garment forms and new ways of wearing clothes, they develop new design systems. Existing garments are deconstructed, unpicked, reconfigured and reworked, using fine tailoring and conceptual templates in order to create a new style of clothes. These conceptual Australian fashion designers open a dialogue between craft and design that places the focus back on how and why objects are made.
