thewhitebook proudly hosted
its very first fashion event from Thursday 24 April to Tuesday 6 May
2008. thewhitebook Fashion Exhibition showcased key pieces from Spring
Summer 2008/09 collections by Alexi Freeman, BelleBika, Charmaine
Baltis, Ghost & Lola, Kanchi, Lady, Limedrop, Mwasi Kitoko, Premonition,
Smena and Vicious Threads. These talented Sydney and Melbourne based
labels presented a diverse and innovative range of womenswear, menswear,
jewellery, shoes and accessories and provided an exclusive glimpse
into their newest collections.
The exhibition was launched with opening night drinks for 250 invited
guests and media. The individual label installations, the gallery
space and the overall concept received an overwhelming response.
thewhitebook wishes to thank all the designers who participated, Kelly
Robson and the wonderful team at Gaffa gallery, Fosters Group and
Hungerford Hill for their generous donations, Riley Batchelor and
2threads for continued media support and to all those who visited
the exhibition over the two-week period.
