Charmaine Baltis designs with the dynamic of velvet strength & bold sensitivity. Motivated by the desire to inject her pieces with spirit, Charmaine draws inspiration from ancient tribal art, religious symbols and rituals as well as the environments natural textures and form. The concept of wearing an amulet, although an ancient tradition, is entirely relevant to the conservation of our souls and our environment, just as it has always been for the universal minds of the world’s tribesman.

Charmaine replicates these qualities into her designs through texture, form and symbolism. Reptilian leather embedded with jewels, distinct surfaces of nature emulated into precious metal, and carved buffalo horn dripping with the grandeur and excitement of the wild. Combined with the lustre of ocean pearls and precious metal and the intense colour’s of gemstones, Charmaine manages to create true amulets of beauty, strength and emotion.
